Local venue hire
Despite our strong community, Lissenden Gardens lacks its own community space. However there are plenty of options in the area. Those listed below have all been recommended by Lissenden residents. If you would like to add one to the list please email info@lissendengardens.co.uk with your suggestion.
York Rise Social Club
The Community Space is on the ground floor of Winifrede Paul House at the bottom of Churchill Road in Dartmouth Park. It is available for hire to the local community.

Peggy Jay Centre
Situated in the One O’Clock Club, it can be booked on weekdays 3pm-7pm during the summer time or on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am - 6pm all year round. There is capacity for up to 40 people indoors or 80 if the weather is good enough to use the outside play area as well as seating for 30-35 children available.
Minimum hire is for three hours.

Holly Lodge Community Centre
The main hall holds up to 80 people, and can be hired for occasional or regular events, some weekdays, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Gospel Oak Methodist Church hall
Church hall (100 seated, or full-sized badminton court), one upstairs room and facilities for light refreshments. No alcohol. Limited availability. Children's parties up to age 10; no other parties.

Kentish Town Community Centre
The centre has four main spaces to hire. During the week the spaces are available to hire between 9.30am - 8.30pm.
On Saturdays the Main Hall is available between 12 - 7pm for one-off hires.
Athlone Hall
Athlone Hall is an ideal location to host meetings, community groups and exercise classes. The space receives plenty of natural light and guests are welcome to enjoy the large garden surrounding the building. The hall also has blackout ability with projector and screen available on request.
