LGTA Committee

***the LGTA pages are currently under revision***

The Lissenden Gardens Tenants Association (mostly known as the LGTA) represents all residents in Parliament Hill Mansions, Clevedon Mansions, Lissenden Mansions, Chester Court and the Wedge.

The LGTA was founded in the early 1970s to protect residents from an unscrupulous private landlord, resulting successfully in Camden Council taking control of the estate.

The LGTA meets regularly to update residents on the latest developments and to give everyone a chance to have a say. These meetings are open for everyone – to listen or to bring up issues that matter to you. The LGTA Committee is made up of residents of Lissenden Gardens who are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Anyone who lives here is eligible to stand for election.  All LGTA meetings are minuted.

The role of the LGTA is to:

·      Represent residents and their views to Camden or other relevant bodies;

·      Help residents to get the services they are entitled to;

·      Provide advice and information to residents.

 Money raised at community events and any funds from Camden are collected by the LGTA to spend in the community.

If you have any queries or requests for the LGTA you can email info@lissendengardens.co.uk and your mail will be forwarded. Please note, this is not a direct line to the LGTA so response times will vary.

District Management Committee (DMC)

There are five District Management Committees (DMCs) in Camden. We belong to the Kentish Town DMC. The committee meets four times a year to discuss local issues and housing committee reports. Once a year there is a joint meeting of all DMCs to discuss setting new rents. They also have funds that residents’ groups can apply for. Helen Jack is our representative, but the meetings are open to any resident who wants to attend.
